Building A platform that spotlightS Afro-dance culture and promote creative growth for dancers and communities across Ireland and beyond.
UMA
Why we do this
MOVEMENT. COMUNITY. CULTURE.
UMA started in Ireland in 2023 with one clear goal: to grow the Afrodance community through Afrodance Naija-inspired classes and workshops for beginners, intermediate dancers, and advanced movers. We offer afrodance inspired classes twice a week in Dublin on Mondays and Thursdays.
UMA started as a response to what we felt was needed: a space where people who want to learn, train, develop and be a part of something can come and feel supported, not just in Afrodance, but in versatility, confidence, discipline, and mindset.
Whether you’re a complete beginner, wanting to get back into dance/afrodance, or a dancer who wants to level up and take training seriously, we welcome dancers and non-dancers alike, because we believe dance is for everybody and growth doesn’t have one “look” or one starting point.
UMA invites progress. We understand how intimidating it can feel to start something new, and here showing up matters more than getting it right. We are all about building confidence and building a community where people feel seen, welcomed, and free, while growing together, one session at a time.
"To help you dance with confidence, have fun with every step, try new things, and learn together with friends one dance, one beat, and one big dance community at a time!"

The Bigger Picture
"A world where dancing helps you share your feelings, make friends, and celebrate different cultures. Everyone can dance in their own special way, try new styles, and feel brave and free when they move!"

CORE VALUES
"I love seeing dancers try different styles and get creative! I help everyone grow and feel part of something bigger. Every dance move has meaning, and I want everyone to feel happy, included, and proud when they dance. Most of all, dancing should be fun and exciting, even when challenging!"
"Our classes go beyond learning dance steps; they're a journey into the heart of African culture, music, and dance."- Official PAK
